I worked in my basement for 8 years and then decided I needed some sunlight so we put in an egress window.

This is the window before.

They arrived at 9:30 AM

It was exciting to watch them dig.

Below is the fiberglass that surrounds the window.  It looks like stones

They had a guy inside that encased himself in plastic.
I did not have one drop of dust in my house when they were finished.

Working in the hole and mounting the window.

They spent a lot of time caulking to make sure it was moisture resistant.

They have the fiberglass in and lining everything up.

This how it looks on the inside.

The lid the put on helps deflect the sun into the house.
We still have to get someone to trim the inside, but I don't feel so confined in the basement with this big window.

This is what it looks like on the outside.  You can lift the lid for air flow or take it off.  It will hold 500 lbs. and hail won't hurt it!  Six hours later the job was finished at 3:30.

My newest pattern!

Playful Pathways Quilt Pattern
Crib size:  51" x 64½"
Twin size:  64½" x 78"
Full size:  778" x 91½"
Queen size:  91½" x 105"
This quilt is easier then it looks.  The pattern explains an easy way to make the stars, and the rest is all squares.  If you buy novelty prints and don't know how to use them, here is the perfect place for them.  Just put them in the center of the chain blocks.   Bright colors make this a dramatic quilt.

Here is my new pattern.  It is made with Kaffe Fassett's fabrics.  These fabrics are beautiful when cut up and put in a quilt.  The pattern is called Jewel Patch.  It comes in 3 sizes:  54"x 54", 66" x 90" & 90" x 102"   Instructions are clear and easy to understand.  The border looks hard, but it is actually very easy.   Spring is in the air and pretty soon the flowers will be blooming.  Wouldn't this quilt make you feel happy!

Hi, I am starting this new blog to highlight some of the patterns I have designed.  As time allows, I will try to put on pictures of my new patterns.  The latest one completed is called Magic Wheels.  I have a harder time naming the patterns then I have designing them!  From time to time I have ran contests to name them.  Then I give away 3 patterns (they don't have to be the same pattern) to the winner.   So check back every now and then.

So here is a picture of Magic Wheels.  I made one quilt in blue and one in pink.  If you go to Clotilde.com, they have it made up in different fabric also.  This quilt uses 5" squares, it's great for charms.  It is also great for those novelty prints for an I-Spy quilt.  There are no sashing to mess with in this quilt, only blocks.  The construction of the blocks create a pinwheel between the blocks.  Quilts sizes are for crib, twin and queen.

From time to time, customers send me pictures of quilts they have made and I would love to put them on my blog (with their permission), because it is always interesting to see quilts made up in different colors.   If I use your picture, I'll send you a free pattern.

I give free shipping at this time on my website.  www.pleasantvalleycreations.com

I also do custom machine quilting.  IF I can find another hour in the day, I'll try to put some pictures on of finished quilts.
